Petersburg is also often called a “museum under the open sky”, as its architectural monuments and ensembles attract huge flows of tourists from Russian and foreign cities every year.

If you choose a one-day tour to St. Petersburg, then the cost of such a tour will include only transfer, sightseeing programs, and transport support around the city. Tours lasting two or more days also include the cost of living. Hotels in St. Petersburg are presented as budget hostels, and five-star luxury hotels, so that you can always choose a tour in accordance with your budget.

Historical reference:

The city was renamed Pushkin in 1937 in honor of the great Russian poet. Initially, from the beginning of the 18th century, when construction of the first stone palace buildings began in new imperial residence, the former Saar manor was renamed as Tsarskoe Selo. Since 1808, it became the city of the Russian Empire. Now the name “Tsarskoe Selo” belongs to the state museum – one of the largest tourist centers in Russia.

The main attractions of the palace and park complex are the Catherine and Alexander Palaces, as well as the parks of the same name with a total area of about 300 hectares. Here you can find more than 100 art objects: palaces, monuments, bridges, pavilions, and exotic structures such as artificial Grottos and ruins.
Catherine Palace is one of the architectural masterpieces of Russian baroque of the middle of the eighteenth century, the most beautiful suburban residence of Russian monarchs. The palace was building and rebuilding from 1717 to 1756 for almost 40 years. The most famous architects of that time, M. Zemtsov, and S. Chevakinsky took part in its construction. The final look of the palace was given by the legendary F.B. Rastrelli. In the interiors of the palace, belonging to the Catherine and Elizabethan epoch, we see rare objects of applied art. The decoration of the Great (Throne) hall of the palace and the “Golden Suite” of the ceremonial rooms (among which is the world-famous Amber Room) delight the eye in all their luxury. The date of its second birth is officially considered to be May 31, 2003, when this unique masterpiece of world art was recreated by the many years of restorers work.

The four-storeyed wing is connected with the palace on the southern side by arch. By the decree of Emperor Alexander I since 1811 the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum was located (now the Memorial Museum, a branch of the All-Russian Pushkin Museum) in this annexe. The museum recreates the atmosphere in which the lyceum students of the first and, as it turned out, the most brilliant release, later named “Pushkin”, lived and studied. On the basis of archival materials, the memorial premises of the third and fourth floors, where the pupils’ mostly lived, were restored in their former look.
Catherine Park is a creature of Russian landscape art of the 18th and 19th centuries, combining masterpieces of architecture and the beauty of northern nature. The adjoining part of the palace, the so-called Old Garden, is a model of the French regular park, with a symmetrical layout, an abundance of sculptures, arbors and pavilions. Marble Italian sculptures were purchased for the park by Peter I at the same time as statues for the Summer Garden in St. Petersburg. The landscape part of the Catherine Park, or the English park, begins behind the Cameron Gallery – an antique-style building designed by the Scottish architect Charles Cameron. While creating the English landscape park, thousands of different trees and bushes were planted, the canals and ponds were excavated, the terrain was changed, and the hills formed. There were various national exotic pavilions, numerous monuments to the victories of Russia in the wars with Turkey. Alexander Park, next to the Catherine Palace from the front yard, covers an area of about 200 hectares. The main entrance to the park is located opposite the Great (Catherine’s) Palace. Alexander Park, as well as Catherine’s one is divided into a district with a regular layout, the so-called “New Garden”, and a landscape park.

St. Petersburg Tour: weekend in Saint-Petersburg 2 days $700 Transfer from Moscow Airport by luxury car St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in Russia, considered as a cultural capital of the country.
